Recommended Clothing

  • Comfortable, lightweight clothing: trekking or sports trousers, breathable T-shirts (ideally technical or synthetic, avoiding cotton) and long-sleeve lightweight shirts to protect you from the sun.
  • Lightweight jacket or windbreaker: mornings and evenings can be cool, especially in the desert and mountains.
  • Warmer jacket or coat: for chilly desert nights.
  • Fleece or light sweater: useful for nights in the mountains and desert.
  • Wide-brimmed hat or cap: for strong sun protection.
  • UV-protective sunglasses

Comfortable Footwear

  • Light hiking boots or sturdy trainers
  • Sandals or flip-flops: to relax and use in accommodations.

Recommended Accessories

  • Small daypack: for personal items during the day (water, snacks, camera, sunscreen).
  • Reusable water bottle
  • High-SPF sunscreen and UV lip balm
  • Insect repellent
  • Light scarf or shawl: very useful to cover your head or protect your face from dust or sand in the desert.
  • Headlamp or small flashlight: ideal for the night at camp.

  • Carry cash: preferably Moroccan dirhams or euros/pounds to exchange on arrival.

Do Women Need to Cover Their Hair?

Covering your hair is not mandatory, especially in tourist areas. However, bringing a scarf or shawl is recommended when visiting religious sites or more conservative villages. In general, wear respectful clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
