Dear Canon Colleagues,
We are excited to invite you to a Private Hike exclusively for Canon UK employees on Sunday, 20 July 2025. This event will be organized and guided by Hiking in London Club. Join us for an outdoor adventure through the scenic Virginia Water Cascades and along the historic Long Walk to Windsor Castle. This is a unique opportunity to relax, connect, and discover some of the UK’s most iconic natural and royal landmarks.
Event Overview
- Route: Virginia Water Cascades → Valley Gardens → Windsor Great Park → Copper Horse statue → Long Walk → Finish at Windsor Castle
- Date: Sunday, 20 July 2025
- Duration: Approximately 5–6 hours (guided)
- Guide: María of Hiking in London Club
- Group Size: Up to 40 participants (minimum 20 required)

We’ll meet directly at the starting point of each hike. Look for María in the designated area. If you have any trouble locating us, please call or text her at 07535 295 739.

What’s Included
- Guided hike led by a certified Canon guide from Hiking in London Club
- First-aid kit and basic safety equipment
What to Bring
- Clothing & Footwear: Comfortable clothes and sturdy walking shoes or boots.
- Weather Protection: Waterproof jacket and trousers if rain is forecast; waterproof footwear is recommended.
- Water: At least 1 litre to stay hydrated.
- Snacks or Lunch: Simple, portable food (sandwiches, fruit, energy bars).
- Optional: Camera, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Pets
Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Please ensure they remain under control at all times.

Fitness & Terrain
This is a moderate-level hike with a relaxed pace over mostly flat or gently undulating paths. It is suitable for those with a basic level of fitness. Breaks will be built in along the route.
Safety First
Our Canon guides from Hiking in London Club are first-aid trained and carry a fully stocked kit. The hike is covered under Canon’s insurance policy, and we are registered with the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) for added safety and compliance.
