If you’re into great food and easy summer vibes, the Hampton Court Palace Food Festival 2016 hit the spot. Over the August Bank Holiday weekend (27–29 August 2016), the palace gardens turned into a foodie playground: artisan producers, street-food stalls, tastings, live music and chef demos—all set against the gorgeous backdrop of Henry VIII’s former home.

The best way to do it was to graze: a sweet treat here, something savoury there, pause for a demo, then wander the lawns with a drink. It was super family-friendly too, with kids’ activities and that laid-back, end-of-summer feel. In short, a tasty day out mixing flavour and history.
