Recommended Equipment for Summit Mount Toubkal

Clothing:

  • Base layers: Quick-drying thermal shirts and pants.
  • Mid layers: Fleece or wool jacket for insulation.
  • Outer layer: Waterproof and breathable jacket and trousers to protect against wind and rain.
  • Mountain trousers: Durable and comfortable; consider trousers that can convert into shorts.
  • Underwear and socks: Preferably from materials that manage moisture well (such as merino or synthetics).
  • Hat, scarf, and gloves: Essential for cold protection, especially at the summit.

Footwear:

  • Mountain boots: Must be sturdy, waterproof, and provide good ankle support.

Hiking Equipment:

  • Backpack: At least 30-40 liters, with a rain cover.
  • Trekking poles: Help reduce knee impact during descents.
  • Sleeping bag: Suitable for staying in mountain shelters.

Food and Hydration:

  • Hydration system or water bottles: Minimum recommended capacity of 2 liters.
  • Energy snacks: Energy bars, nuts, and other high-calorie snacks.

Navigation and Safety:

  • Headlamp and extra batteries: Important, as we start early in the morning.
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses: Essential protection against UV radiation at high altitudes.

Other:

  • Trash bags: Important for leaving no trace on the mountain.
  • Toilet paper and personal hygiene items: Stay clean and respect the environment.

Items provided by the guide:

  • GPS and map: For navigation during the trek.
  • Basic first aid kit: For minor emergencies.
