4-Day Hiking Adventure in Tenerife – Hiking in London Club

Day 1 – Arrival and First Impressions

We land in Tenerife, check in, and stretch our legs with an easy beach walk. Then we’ll grab a group meal to meet everyone and kick things off properly. After that, it’s chill time at Playa de Adeje.

Day 2 – Masca Gorge: down to the beach + boat back past Los Gigantes

Today is the big one: Masca Gorge. We start up in Masca and go downhill only through the gorge all the way to the beach—proper adventure vibes. And the best part? We finish with our feet in the sand, then jump on the boat back to Los Gigantes, cruising along the cliffs from the sea. It’s one of those “wow, I’m really here” moments. We’ll enjoy the ocean views and end the day in the best way possible.

Day 3 – Barranco del Infierno

Next up: Barranco del Infierno—a stunning protected trail (around 6.5 km return) ending at a waterfall. Helmets are required and provided at the start. After that, we reward ourselves properly: pool time, seaside strolls, and good food with the crew.

Day 4 – Chill Day in the South

After two epic hikes, we slow it down. Beach time, swims, coastal strolls, and good food around Costa Adeje. Perfect finish.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: Kathmandu – Lukla [2,840m] – Phakding [2,652m]

Begin with an early flight from Kathmandu’s domestic terminal to Lukla (2,800m). This breathtaking 40-minute journey lands on the Tenzing-Hillary Airport runway. After meeting our trekking crew and organising gear, we start the short hike to Phakding. This gentle walk helps with acclimatisation. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Phakding – Namche Bazaar [3,440m]

Today’s trek follows a route of short ascents and descents, crossing the Dudh Koshi River multiple times. Enjoy marvellous views of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m) at Benkar village. After entering Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, we descend to Jorsale before traversing the Hillary Suspension Bridge. A final uphill climb rewards us with superb views of Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and other peaks before reaching Namche Bazaar, the main hub of the Khumbu region. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 4: Acclimatisation Day at Namche Bazaar

We spend the day acclimatising. Health experts recommend staying active, so a day hike to Khumjung or a visit to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Centre is ideal. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant Sherpa town featuring shops, bakeries, and markets. Exploring a few hundred metres higher aids in acclimatisation before returning to the hotel. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 5: Namche Bazaar – Tengboche [3,867m]

We ascend gently from Namche to Kyangjuma (3,550m), with views of Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), and more. From Kyangjuma, a forest trail leads to Sanasa, where one route goes towards Gokyo and another heads to Everest Base Camp. We descend steeply through pine and rhododendron forests to Phungi Thanga, then climb to Tengboche Monastery (3,867m). The sunset and sunrise panoramas here are unforgettable. Day 6: Tengboche – Dingboche [4,410m]

The trail descends through forests of birch and rhododendron, passing Deboche (3,820m) and crossing the Imja Khola. We then climb past carved mani stones to Pangboche (3,930m), continuing to Somare (4,010m) before reaching Dingboche (4,410m). Along the way, relish views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other majestic peaks. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 7: Acclimatisation Day at Dingboche (Hike to Nagarjung Peak)

Our second acclimatisation day involves a short yet steep hike to higher elevations, following the principle of “climb high, sleep low.” Many trekkers visit Nangkartshang Hermitage, but we may push on further to enjoy loftier views if conditions permit. Return to Dingboche to sleep. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 8: Dingboche – Lobuche [4,910m]

We trek through farmland and meadows towards the Khumbu Glacier, reaching Dughla (4,620m). Afterwards, a steep climb to Dughla Pass (4,830m) reveals memorials to climbers. From here, we ascend gently to Lobuche (4,910m), with sweeping views of Ama Dablam, Pumori, and Nuptse. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 9: Lobuche – Gorak Shep [5,140m] – Everest Base Camp [5,364m]

We make our way along the Khumbu Glacier’s lateral moraine before descending to Gorak Shep (5,140m). After an early lunch, we set off for Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Expect rough trails over glacier and moraine. Although Everest’s summit is not visible from Base Camp, the Khumbu Icefall is enthralling. We return to Gorak Shep for the night. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar [5,545m] – Return to Pheriche or Pangboche [4,260m]

We begin early with a steep climb to Kala Patthar, arriving in time for sunrise views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and more. After savouring the 360° Himalayan panorama, we head back down to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then retrace our steps through Lobuche and Dughla before continuing to Pheriche or Pangboche (4,260m). Day 11: Pheriche or Pangboche – Namche Bazaar [3,440m]

We descend through Sherpa villages, enjoying final glimpses of Everest and the surrounding peaks. The return path includes short ascents, but by late afternoon we arrive in Namche Bazaar. This evening is yours to rest or explore. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 12: Namche – Lukla [2,800m]

After breakfast, we cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge again and trek through local settlements. Once we reach Lukla, it is time to celebrate our achievement with our trekking team. This is our final night in the Everest region. Meals Included: B, L, D

Day 13: Fly Lukla – Ramechhap or Kathmandu

An early flight brings us back to civilisation. We transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu, where you can rest or enjoy the city. In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner at a top Nepali restaurant. Meals Included: B/B & Farewell Dinner

Day 14: Fly Home – Farewell to Nepal

What is the best time to do Everest Base Camp Trek?

The best time to trek to Everest Base Camp is autumn (mid-September to November) and spring (March to early June). This trek is possible year-round, and we can organise it whenever it suits your schedule. However, we generally suggest doing this trek in the most favourable seasons and avoiding the rainstorm season (July and August). In the cold months of January and February, the temperature can be quite harsh in the mountains. Nevertheless, some people prefer to travel during these months as it is less crowded, provided you are well prepared with appropriate winter wear and other gear.

What Kind of weather and temperature do we face during Everest Base Camp Trek?

Due to its tendency to be localised, the weather in the Everest region can be challenging to forecast. You may encounter rain, fog, cold, or hot and sunny conditions while trekking, so being prepared for varying weather is crucial. Night-time temperatures are significantly lower than midday temperatures. Over the course of a single day, it may shift from a high of around 25°C (77°F) to as low as –20°C (–4°F). While the precise day-to-day mountain weather can be unpredictable, typical temperature ranges are fairly consistent by month and season.

Spring – March, April, May, June
This is often considered the best time to visit, though it’s also the busiest season. Expedition activities abound at Everest Base Camp. The sky is usually clear, and the blossoming trees add to the scenic panorama. Springtime average temperatures hover around 20°C (68°F), rising as high as 25°C (77°F) on clear days, with lows of about –15°C (5°F) above 4,000 metres at night.

Monsoon season – July, August through mid-September
This period brings heavy rainfall below 3,500 metres, making it less ideal for trekking in the Everest region. It can occasionally remain dry above 4,000 metres, but frequent rain deters most. On the upside, waterfalls are abundant, and crowds are minimal. During monsoon, the average temperature is roughly 22°C (71.6°F), climbing as high as 30°C (86°F) on clear days and dropping to around –5°C (23°F) above 4,000 metres overnight.

Autumn – late September, October, November
Autumn is just as popular as spring and is also one of the finest seasons to trek. Although the plant life may not be in bloom, skies are typically clear with jaw-dropping views. Temperatures average around 17°C (62.6°F), peaking near 20°C (68°F) on sunny days and dipping to approximately –15°C (5°F) above 4,000 metres overnight.

Winter – December, January, February
Some trekkers opt for winter travel to avoid crowds, though extra days are advisable due to possible delays. Average temperatures hover around 10°C (50°F), with highs of about 17°C (62.6°F) on clear days and lows of roughly –20°C (–4°F) above 4,000 metres overnight. Teahouses typically provide extra blankets for warmth.

What is the temperature range of the sleeping bag provided to trekkers?

The sleeping bags we provide for rent are rated for temperatures around –10°C (14°F). If you require additional warmth, our guides can usually source extra blankets at the teahouses.

Can we Hike to Kala Patthar first and then to Mount Everest Camp?

Yes, you can hike to Kala Patthar first to catch a magnificent sunset. However, given the unpredictable nature of the mountain weather at dusk, the safer approach is to trek to Everest Base Camp first and then ascend Kala Patthar early the following morning.

How much additional money do I need per day?

Typically, USD 15–20 per person per day is sufficient for water, tea or coffee, snacks, and hot showers in the mountains, plus lunches or dinners in Kathmandu. If you plan to purchase souvenirs or Nepali goods, you may want to bring more cash accordingly.

Is it possible to use credit cards in the places I visit during the trek?

In the mountain region, trekking lodges and shops typically prefer cash in Nepalese Rupees rather than credit cards. It is best to exchange your money into Nepali Rupees in Kathmandu before starting the trek, either at the airport, a bank, or your hotel. Be aware that most hotels only exchange up to about USD 100 per transaction. ATMs can be found as far as Namche Bazaar, but reliability varies. Exchange rates are often more favourable in Kathmandu.

Langtang Valley Trek - Nepal 2026

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1275m)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will complete your customs formalities (visa, etc.). Look for our representative holding the trek company display board, who will assist you with your transfer to a hotel such as Hotel Manang or a comparable establishment. Includes bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1500m)

The trek begins with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. After a 6–7‑hour journey, you will arrive at Syabru Besi at an elevation of approximately 1550 metres – the official starting point for treks into the Langtang region. Enjoy majestic views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal as you travel along winding roads to the quaint village, where you will spend the night in a guest house. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2480m)

After breakfast in Syabru Besi, set off on a trek through oak and rhododendron forests, with varied ascents and descents, until you reach Langtang Khola. Cross a river via a bridge and then ascend a steep trail leading to Lama Hotel at 2480 metres, where you will stay for the night. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3500m)

Departing from Lama Hotel, the trail ascends steadily while offering splendid mountain views and cascading waterfalls. As you approach Ghoda Tabela (‘horse stables’), the Langtang range gradually reveals itself. Continue your gentle climb past grazing yaks until you reach the traditional village of Langtang at 3500 metres, where you will spend the night in a guest house. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 5: Langtang Village to Kyangjin (3910m)

This relatively short and easy trek aids acclimatisation as you cross the 3000‑metre mark. Along the way, you will pass Mani walls, chortens, prayer flags and intricately carved holy rocks. After roughly 4 hours of trekking, you will enter a charming valley with unique features to explore. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit local cheese factories to sample delicious produce or explore the Buddhist shrine at Kyangjin Gompa. You will spend the night in Kyangjin at 3910 metres. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 6: Kyangjin Rest Day (Optional Tsekori Hike up to 5000m)

Enjoy a well-deserved rest day in Kyangjin, giving you time to acclimatise and absorb the surroundings. You may take a leisurely walk along the moraine to admire the glaciers of Langtang Lirung, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, opt for an extended hike to Tsekori – reaching up to 5000 metres and taking approximately 8–9 hours round‑trip. Alternatively, consider ascending to the highest point of the trek at 4350 metres for panoramic views of the Langtang peaks. Return to Kyangjin for an overnight stay. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 7: Kyangjin to Lama Hotel

After breakfast, begin your descent from Kyangjin back to Lama Hotel. This leg of the journey is mostly downhill, allowing you to savour the sweeping Himalayan vistas. You will spend the night at Lama Hotel, located at 2480 metres. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 8: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi

Retrace your steps from Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi on an easy, predominantly downhill trek. Enjoy one last view of the Himalayan splendour before spending the night in Syabru Besi at 1500 metres in a guest house. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 9: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu

Day 10: Farewell

Bid farewell to the mountains as your Nepal journey draws to a close. Today is reserved for reflection, exchanging contact details with fellow travellers and organising your photos. If time permits, enjoy some shopping or sightseeing. At the scheduled departure time, a representative will escort you to the airport for your flight.

Note: In the event of an emergency during the trek, a helicopter will be arranged. Any associated costs must be covered by your insurance or paid by you directly.

Seealpsee and Alpstein Trail – A weekend of lakes, mountains and local treats

This will be one of those weekends you’ll remember for a long time. The Spartans are heading to Switzerland, and from the first moment, we know it's going to be special.

Our Guides

You’ll be guided by Thomas, our club photographer and mountain leader, and María, your all-round organiser and co-guide. Both will support the group, keep things flowing smoothly, and ensure you enjoy every moment.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival and walk by the lake: Arrive in Switzerland, take the train from Zurich Airport to Wasserauen, check into the lakeside hostel at Seealpsee, enjoy an afternoon relaxed walk around the lake with stunning alpine views, and visit a local cheese farm.
Day 2 – Alpstein Geological Trail (16 km): Full-day hike through dramatic rock formations, green valleys, alpine meadows, and breathtaking mountain panoramas, including lunch with spectacular views of Schäfler mountain.
Day 3 – Waterfalls and a proper Spartan goodbye: Scenic hike featuring beautiful waterfalls, ending at the train station, farewell gathering with homemade local cider and our traditional Spartan shout: miauuu miauuu.

Accommodation:

2 nights in a peaceful hostel by the lake. Shared dorms (private rooms may be requested in advance). The hostel offers beautiful surroundings and cosy mountain vibes.

Dinner is mandatory at the hostel and costs approximately £40 per person. This is not included in the event price and will be paid directly to the hostel.

Fitness Level:

Moderate. The main hike is 16 km through mountain terrain. You should feel comfortable walking all day with some elevation – but we’ll go at a steady, group-friendly pace.
